Dragunny Core Refinement Method

Refinement Method Ranking: C

Description:

The Dragunny Core Refinement Method grants practitioners ice manipulation, cold resistance, and enhanced mobility, inspired by the swift and elusive Dragunny. Refining these cores allows the user to develop control over snow and ice, improved aerial movement, and heightened resistance to freezing environments.

Pathways:

Stage One: Frostborn Awakening

To begin refinement, the practitioner must acquire and refine 10 Dragunny cores. The refinement process requires the user to sit in a naturally frozen environment, surrounded by ice and snow, for six hours, allowing their body to adjust to the cold while absorbing the frozen essence of the cores.

Path Options:

Path One: Icebound Predator

Abilities & Effects:

  • Gains the ability to freeze water within a 55-meter radius.

  • Can release an ice breath, that chills enemies and slows them by 15%.

  • Cold resistance increases by 50%, and near perfect resistance to non-magical winter.

Drawbacks:

  • Ice abilities require moisture to work, ineffective in dry environments.

  • Prolonged use of ice breath causes mana drain.

Path Two: Snow Phantom

Abilities & Effects:

  • Can create and manipulate snow within 45 meters.

  • Increases movement speed by 3x in snowy environments.

  • Can change their skin color to blend into the area around them.

Drawbacks:

  • Abilities are useless outside of snowy or cold environments.

Path Three: Arctic Soarer

Abilities & Effects:

  • Gains limited flight, allowing for short bursts of flight that last 10 turns with a cooldown of 5 turns.

  • Can triple jump mid-air without needing to touch a surface.

  • Cold air reduces the user’s falling momentum, taking no damage from fall damage in cold areas.

Drawbacks:

  • Aerial movement is weak against strong winds.

Path Four: Frostfang Hunter

Abilities & Effects:

  • Gains sharpened reflexes, 6x reaction speed, in cold environments.

  • Can emit a freezing aura within 25 meters passively.

  • Ice-covered strikes that slow enemies by 2% per hit, with a cooldown of 1 turn per hit.

Drawbacks:

  • Reflex boost does not work in warm environments.

  • Freezing aura isn't too cold, it takes time to freeze things.
